Wild Dogs Tooth pendant in Sterling Silver
The Wild Dog Tooth Pendant is a handcrafted sterling silver necklace made in Adelaide, South Australia by Olivia Dryden. It belongs to the Curios Collection, where natural history, memento mori symbolism and careful craftsmanship meet.
The design began with a real wild dog tooth, discovered in New Delhi, India, while I was exploring “The Forbidden Forest”, a dry bushland area behind the residence where I stayed during my travels in 2015 and 2016. The tooth was carefully removed from the jawbone of a wild dog, then moulded so its small pointed form and natural surface detail could be preserved.
Cast in sterling silver, the tooth becomes a lasting wearable object connected to travel, memory and natural history. Worn as a pendant, it feels subtle, talismanic and quietly unusual.
Materials: Sterling silver
Process: Each pendant is handmade in small quantities using traditional silversmithing and casting techniques. The original wild dog tooth was carefully moulded before being cast in sterling silver. Slight differences in texture, shape and finish should be expected as part of the handmade process.
Dimensions: Tooth: 1.2 cm length. 45cm length chain.
