Mini Cross Bone & Drop Necklace

A$150.00

The Mini Cross Bone & Drop Necklace is a handcrafted sterling silver necklace made in Adelaide, South Australia by Olivia Dryden. It belongs to the Curios Collection, where natural history, memento mori symbolism and careful craftsmanship meet.

The pendant is formed from fox tail vertebrae shapes arranged into a small cross, creating a delicate piece with quiet memento mori symbolism. Cast in sterling silver, the bone forms become a lasting wearable object that feels intimate, sculptural and slightly gothic.

This necklace is available with your choice of freshwater pearl, onyx or garnet drop. Freshwater pearl adds soft organic lustre, onyx brings a darker contrast, and garnet introduces a deep red tone to the silver bone form.

Materials:
Sterling silver, sterling silver chain, with your choice of freshwater pearl, onyx or garnet drop.

Process:
Each necklace is handmade in small quantities using traditional silversmithing and casting techniques. The original fox tail vertebrae form was carefully moulded before being cast in sterling silver. Slight differences in texture, finish and pearl or gemstone character should be expected as part of the handmade process.

Dimensions:
Pendant length: 1.5 cm.
Bone form: 0.8 cm.
Pearl or gemstone drop: approximately 0.6 cm.
Sterling silver chain: 45 cm length.

Ethical note:
All animal specimens used in my jewellery are sourced from animals that have passed from unpreventable causes. Each design is created with respect for the original specimen.

FAQ

Q1: Is the Mini Cross Bone & Drop Necklace suitable as a gift?

A:Yes. Each piece is packaged in an Olivia Dryden Jewellery branded velvet pouch and is suited to collectors who appreciate handmade jewellery with story, detail and meaning.

Q2: How do I clean my earrings?

A: Avoid perfumes, lotions and harsh chemicals. Due to the intricate, hard-to-reach details in this piece, a silver dip may be used occasionally to clean the sterling silver more evenly than a polishing cloth. Always follow the silver dip instructions carefully, rinse thoroughly, dry completely, and avoid dipping pearls, gemstones or oxidised details.

Q3: Are the animal specimens ethically sourced?
A: Yes. Animal specimens used in Olivia Dryden Jewellery are sourced from animals that have passed from unpreventable causes, and each piece is created with respect for the original specimen.
