The Victorian Button and Pearl Earrings are handmade in Adelaide, South Australia.
These earrings began life as Victorian jet buttons, discovered during my time in London. The original button was carefully moulded and cast in sterling silver, then finished with large baroque Freshwater pearls suspended below. A stud earring with a quiet statement!

During my Helpmann Academy Fellowship in 2018, while studying taxidermy in London, I spent many weekends wandering antique markets. It was there I became drawn to Victorian jet, a material deeply tied to mourning jewellery, remembrance, and ritual.
